Independent Music: Modern Acoustic Rock
Finally Friday delivers high-caliber modern acoustic rock drawn from a deep reservior of young talent influenced by Benjamin Carter, Guster, Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews and Radiohead. The band is composed of musicians hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah. They have independently released their own grass-roots acoustic rock debut album entitled "Curbs and Cracks."
The band has drawn interest far and wide including Europe. Join the mailing list for news and updates!
Although currently on sabbatical as a band, the individual band members remain heavily involved in various music projects and they remain in touch with each other. A couple of band members, David Crosby (lead singer, lead guitar) and Emily Nicolich (violin) are in the Atlanta, Georgia area right now. David has brought his guitar and is preaching the Word. Emily is playing fiddle for Ryan Casper and has played in concert downtown at the Apache Lounge. Additionally, Emily is composing and teaching violin lessons. She has taken a particular interest in gypsy and folk music of antiquity for violin and is collecting a library of such music. DJ Hesterman (harmony vocals and guitar) and Charles Stewart (percussion) are in college on music scholarships playing in the orchestra and pep band respectively. Steve Crosby (bass) is doing his senior year at Skyline High.
The last time the band was together, they brought down the house! They played for a sold-out crowd at the Rose Wagner Theater and sold their entire batch of CDs.
Finally Friday, the award-winning acoustic rock band is pleased to announce their FAREWELL CONCERT.
The event will be held on Friday May 19th at 8:00 p.m. at the Rose Wagner Center for the Performing Arts, downtown Salt Lake City: 138 West 300 South (801) 355-2728. Admission is FREE. No tickets are required for entrance to the show.
This FREE concert is a gift to the community and FINALLY FRIDAY's many fans to mark the conclusion of a long and success-filled run. FINALLY FRIDAY, originally organized in 2004, is finishing their band aspirations in favor of other worthwhile pursuits. David Crosby, the band's lead singer and lead guitarist, has accepted a call to serve an LDS mission. Additionally, Emily Nicolich, the band's violinist is expecting her first child.
David Crosby describes the FINALLY FRIDAY time of his life as "beyond the imagination of young musicians. The concerts, recording sessions, television appearances, competitions, composing meetings and practices will have a lasting influence on all of our lives. As band members, we each leave with special feelings of respect and friendship for each other!"
The entire band will be reunited to play their standards and new, never before heard songs for the FAREWELL CONCERT.
