Check out the band journal:
10/4/2006 - Emily Hey Fans Dear fans, like many bands before us, we're currently on a little hiatus, but are still heavily involved in music, because it's our passion! Sign up for the mailing list and we'll drop you a note and let you know what we're up to. To find out what I'm up to, just go to EmilyViolin.com. Our MySpace account is still active, so check that out as well. Also, we're on GarageBand.com and are excited about some of the awards that we've won there - so vote for us - yay! Peace, Luv, and Rock 'n Roll - Emily 6/24/2006 - Emily An Afterward Our Farewell Concert was a success. Thanks to all who showed up, it was so much fun, emotional too. Playing with this band has been one of the highlights of my life. I really can't say how much I've loved playing with these boys. Dave's now in the MTC, coming my way pretty soon. (I'm now in Georgia) That is nuts, but great. I'm getting pretty round, I'm now 25 weeks along! According to some, that means the third tri, but some say I need to wait a week or two to say that. DJ's getting ready to go off to Utah State- he's way stoked. Steve has another year at good old Skyline. Charles is plugging away at his engineering degree at the U- I continue to be impressed by his intelligence. So, We're all doing our own things, but I think all of us will always be Finally Friday members in our hearts. I can't wait for the time when we canm all play together again. It will happen. I'll make sure of that. Anyway, thanks for all of your support. This has been an experience we'll all treasure so really, thank you. I look forward to writing again some time talking about our reunion, that will kick. Love to all, Emily 4/20/2006 - Bill Farewell Concert - Exciting As Emily's husband, I'm excited to fly to SLC to attend the band's farewell concert. I've had a great time following the band around, taking video footage and photos, and working on the web site. I guess that makes me a very nerdy fan! The things we do for love. Anyhow, the band has produced some really good music, and their awards and acclaim is much deserved. I'm sure that they'll make new fans as people continue to discover them. Maybe they'll become even more famous after the break-up! 12/31/2005 - Emily Oh the craziness of the times. So, we have this show tomorrow that I hope people will go to- I think it will be great! (at the institute building at the U at 7:30) We also have a show/contest on the 6th. PLEASE come out and support us. We'd give you lot's of warm feelings if you did. It will be at the Circuit- We'll play at 8:00. So I've been with my fantastic husband for the last few days and it has been FABULOUS. He is so so good. I love him like a gamer loves his xbox. Probably more even. Anyway, I'm super stoked to be reunited- and hope to unite with the likes of y'all in the next week at our shows. Love always, Emily 12/30/2005 - charles alana soooooooooo, I went to green valley arizona to see my grandparents for the holidays. I had to fly home early because we have a gig on new years eve. On the plane ride I sat next to a girl who I noticed had been carying a guitar on to the plane. I was going to ask her about it, if she was in a band etc., but she looked pretty tired (she was asleep) so I decided not to bother her. As we were getting of the plane she asked me what time it was And I told her, it turned out our plane had been late landing, and she had another plane to catch in a few minutes. Seeing as how she was in a rush, I offered to carry her guitar to the gate of her next flight. As we were walking we got to talking, and I found out that her name is Alana, and she is a singer/songwriter from L.A. I told her that I too was in a band and let her listen to burn on my mp3 player. She said it was really good, and asked if we had an album out or anything, I said we had an 8 song cd, dut I didn't have one with me at the time, so I gave her our web addresss so she could check out our web site. Turns out she also has a website (alanasweetwater.com), so I went and checked it out. I listened to some of the music from her website and it's pretty sweet. so you should all go check out her website. 10/28/2005 6:03:30 PM - Emily Hey, Charles you are so sweet and nice. Thank you. Well, the truth of when I am moving is a little unclear at the moment. I might not end up going right away. As for now, everything is just a little hazy. We should, however, have a decision by the end of the week. Wish us luck in our decision making process. Keep us in your prayers. 10/17/2005 - Charles Emily So we have all given Emily a whole bunch of crap for moving away, telling her it's a dumb idea, and that it's not fair to the rest of us etc. But the truth is we all love Emily this much (I'm holding my hands really far apart right now)and that we are going to miss her terribly, so sorry Em if we're making this rough on you we just hate to see you go. I will keep You and Bill in my prayers as you embark on this adventure. P.S. visit often 10/16/2005 - DJ CD Well we finally released our CD on Friday (Finally) at our concert. Although the concert was one of our worst with some tuning problems and sickness for dave and all around no togetherness, we got some cd's out there and hopefully people are starting to listen to us. We started out with 100 cds and are now basically sold out. More will be coming shortly, with the minor change of the name "Curves and Cracks" to "Curbs and Cracks". We'll always know if you're a good fan if you have one of the first 100 "Curves and Cracks" error CDs. Yesterday we sold quite a few after playing at the Save the Arts concert with Kurt Bestor. I'd say we redeemed ourselves from the night before. We were able to donate $4 a cd to the cause. Emily will be leaving to San Franciso soon and therefore we will be unable to perform for a while, but with her absense we will continue to practice and make more songs. Hopefully we'll be able to fly in for some concerts and we'll be able to keep going. 10/10/2005 - emily so excited!!! So I am SO excited about these new recordings!!! They sound pretty good I think. We'll have them for y'all this weekend at our shows, we'll keep you posted. 10/9/2005 - band well it's 3:18 in the morning and we're still here recording(mixing now). We still may have a while but we're getting there! 10/8/2005 - all of us recording So, we're here at the studio recording. It is SOSOSO fun. WE are working with the awesome Scott Wiley. He is so good. I am very impressed, and super excited for these songs to be completed. We'll now have over double the amount of songs we have recorded! It's so nice to get them done so quickly, it's just too bad we couldn't have done them earlier. we are rushing to finish DJ and Steves parts, because they have homecoming tonight. DJ called Erika and asked her if it was allright if he was late and she said it was, thanks Erika. Furthermore you should all come to our show at the circuit on the 14th, Jeramiah's fire (the other band playing) is really good so make sure to get their on time and stay for the whole show (we're not sure of the order yet). 10/1/2005 - emily So I was just thinking about these shows we have in October. One on the 14th and one on the 15th. We'll even have CDs at that point! I'm so stoked to FINALLY do this recording. These might be the last shows we do without having me fly out here, so you all should come. Really. Anyway, I'll give you more detail in the not too distant future. Well, love and candy, Emily 9/21/2005 - DJ Hey everybody. I'd just like to thank everyone who came to our last show at the Sandy Ampitheatre. We had a lot more people show up than I expected with prices as high as they were for Cheri. It was really nice to see some people there for us and hopefully get our name out to some people who hadn't heard us before. Hopefully we'll be able to do a free concert or two in October and get our CD out there. It's not finished yet but we have plans to be recording October 7th and 8th. I'm way excited to finally get this done at soularium. Me and Dave played on channel 13 on monday. It was cool to be on TV but we were kinda bummed about how it turned out. We were only on for like 15 seconds and she was talking over us and such, but oh well it was still alright. Emily is moving to San Francisco at the end of next month. I hope all goes well to her and Bill, and hopefully we'll be able to fly her in sometimes and still play everyonce in a while. Well...See ya later! 8/12/2005 9:21:58 PM - Emily The happs So, I hope y'all are having a lovely summer. We've had a good one. Last week we filmed a pilot for a show called Underground Sound. It was wicked fun and very interesting. Hopefully it will air some time in the near future. Later, they will have a site up; undergroundsoundtv.com, but there isn't anything there right now. We are also firming up dates that we can do our recording with Highway Records! We are way stoked on that. They are flying out a producer, and I think he'll do some great things with our music. I'm also really excited to play this show on the 20th. I think this band Chudda will be rad- read about them on the news page. we'll also be playing with Parker Ence; I hear good things. Well, enjoy the last of your precious summer days. 7/24/2005 - DJ Bear Lake Hey everyone who looks at this. I just got back from Bear Lake with Dave it was pretty awesome. We met some people there and they had heard of us before! Allright! Yeah anyway that was exciting for me. Besides that the trip was pretty sweet as well. Me and Dave kicked some serious trash in Volleyball and such. Anyway I guess that doesn't have much to do with the band but I thought it was fun. Sounds like Highway Records just might finally start to record with us, so when that happens I'll be really happy. Also last week we started filming for a music video that will be on TV I believe, so that was exciting as well. Hopefully we'll be able to start practicing a little more regularly soon and pop out some more songs. Until then-See you later. 7/17/2005 - Emily Mixes Hello!!! I hope you are all enjoying your fantastic Summer. I know I have been. Well, if you hit the music section on the site, you'll see some new things. We added the song Alex, which makes me so happy to have Charles as a drummer. We recorded it a while back, but mixed it this week. There's also the last chorus only vocal- I'm pretty impressed with the boys' vocals on both of these Alex tracks. We also did some things to Catch a Glance, so listen to that one again. Well, enjoy the tunes! 7/6/2005 - DJ 4th of July Hey just read charles' journal and it so happens that we did play one of our songs so that's pretty cool, even though I had to make up the words on the spot. I guess the rest of the band did give me some subjects to go off of but that's about it. I was really embarassed though cause I said to the audience "If those lyrics were really bad, it's because I just made them up." I guess it kind of came across that I didn't make them up on the spot and that they were just bad lyrics because I made them this time instead of Dave, so I probably won't be making any more comments like that. And Dave really probably shouldn't tell the audience when he skips a whole verse in a song either. Anyway I guess it was a pretty good concert mostly it was cool to play in front of a ton of people who don't know us. Maybe some day we'll be able to play in front of a ton of people who Do know us! That'd be sweet. Anyway I guess I've taken my fair amount of journal time so I'm outta here. 7/4/2005 - charles hello, this is the first time I've written in the journal. I'm just chillin' at my house right now with nothing to do. We have some pretty sweet new songs we are working on, but I don't know if we'll play them at our show today, seeing as how were not practicing right now. Peace out. 7/3/2005 - Emily Hello. I guess tomorrow is the beautiful day of patriotic love. Don't forget to come and see us. I LOve you all. I also love my friend Melissa, don't worry, I'm with her right now. She is really fantastic. I haven't seen her for quite some time, but it feels like no time has passed. That's great. Well, see you all later, maybe tomorrow. Wear red, white, and/or blue. 6/13/2005 - Emily Rescheduling Hello friends. So, we played a little bit last night at Midvale park. But the event is going to be rescheduled. I believe it will be July 9th, still at Midvale park. There is a pretty rad outdoor stage there, so come and enjoy the evening. There is also going to be a movie and a few other bands. We'll keep you posted. We have a couple new songs we're excited about and hope to have ready for the Fourth of July. We're playing before a parade in Sandy that day, so come and be patriotic with us! Thanks all. Have a fantastic day. 6/12/2005 - Dave I have never used this journal thing before so I am just trying it out. I am having so much fun playing with the band right now. We are playing a lot of really fun shows at cool venues. Its been way fun to see the support from people coming to see us so thanks to all of you who are coming to our shows. I am also excited about a little bit of new material we are hoping to get out there in the next couple of weeks so come check it out. 5/28/2005 - D.J. Hesterman Almost out Hey everyone, just thought I'd checkout the new journal and put in my first entry. As far as the band goes I just got a new amp for my electric guitar, so I'm really excited about that and I hope to use it in some of our stuff. Other than that I'm really just getting excited for school to end. Summer is almost here and that means recording should be coming up soon as well. Anyway that's all I got for now, hope this works allright! 5/25/2005 - Emily EPIC Well, I just got home from the Epic concert. My what a lovely evening! All kinds of people gathering together for a good cause, playing music. It went pretty well, however, I broke a string. I NEVER break strings! Seriously wacky. It also happened before most of my solos, so that was rad. But really, it was fun and I felt good about it. By the way, Peter Kern is fantastic. He just got us another gig, on June 10th, and he just pretty much rules. Well, I am a bit sleepy, so we will meet again soon. Until then, remember chocolate is better than vanilla. 5/5/2005 - Bill Emily is awesome! I'm Emily's husband and just wanted to note how awesome Emily is. Just check out the video footage. She rules! 5/5/2005 - Bill New Journal I'm really excited about this new journal. It'll be neat-o.
